Howto add floating WordPress thumbnails

One of the niggling aspects of WordPress is that it can be fiddly to add thumbnails to a page of thumbnails (what I use as a “Gallery Index Page”), without the thumbnails interfering with each other.

I appear to have devised a fairly straightforward way of adding addtional thumbnails without too much bother.

  1. Select the thumbnail previous to the one you want to insert in the Gallery Index page.
  2. Press the `return` button.
  3. Click the `Add an image` button and add a thumbnail as before.

  1. Thanks Jake, This works really well, and I have successfully updated many of my galleries. However, if there is a way of DEtaching a thumbnail from a gallery? I can delete them from the gallery and place them in another one, but they still claim to be in the one they have been deleted from!! Short of deleting them completely from the Media library and then re-uploading them, is there another way?
