Who should attend
Artists, graphic designers and creatives who want to learn how to put their work online for free.
Skills required
Basic computer literacy, including moving and copying files, creating, editing and saving a document with a word processor and using a web browser. Experience with digital images would be helpful but not essential.
Learning outcomes
- Planning: you will learn the importance of choosing the right work and using the right words, to give the impression you want.
- Preparing images: you will know the basic types of images and the common image formats for the web, and also how to resize and retouch images.
- Managing a CMS: you will learn the basic techniques for managing words and images on a Content Management System.
You need to bring:
- The name of your web site
- An unusual/unique username
- Three names for galleries
- 4-6 images per gallery, preferably in digital format
All techniques will be taught using Free Software that will be made available free of charge to all students.
